Best Japanese curry I’ve ever had. I tried the classic katsu curry and the croquette curry, and both were delicious. Concise menu of about 9 things. Very limited bar-type seating, so I recommend going before the lunchtime rush.

Katsu Curry @ Masara Was looking around Osaka Station for curry rice cuz I had the craving and found this interesting name. Due to it’s closeness to Masala, I thought it would be Indian but it’s actually Japanese Curry with a twist! The curry was slightly sweet and meaty, which is par for the demi-glace heavy styles here but there’s another layer to it I can’t seem to describe, which surprised me. It’s also a little tingly, indicating a level of spice. Most curries here don’t have that by default. Something was added here that I like. The Katsu was great too, crisp breading on tender meat, it felt great to bite into, and with the curry? Amazing. It’s located within a veeery small nook, where only counter seats are available, the train is also nearby so once in awhile you can hear the whirring and thunking of the train and tracks. This could enhance or take away from the meal but I didn’t like it too much. The space itself was very cosy though. Total cost was 1100 yen Great meal, 5/5

Best Japanese curry I’ve ever had. Small place with just the one man, but service is quick and warm - perfectly crispy cutlet with a hint of spice on the curry itself - so good.

Totally delicious. Tucked into the train station, you can hear the trains rattle overhead occasionally. I had the pork cutlet and loved it. English menus provided and prompt service. Cash only tho.

I came by in the afternoon and only a few seats were taken. I got the value set (¥1450) which came with a katsu cutlet, sausages and eggplant pieces. The curry was robust with a beefy flavour and delicious. The portion of rice is also generous. The food also arrived quickly within 10 minutes.

Amazing Japanese style curry but with a little more spice than average. The pork cutlet was great and was perfectly crispy with lots of flavor. I could have used a little more rice personally but over all one of the best curry’s I’ve ever had

The curry here has a deeper and more savoury taste. Paired with the beef, radish, and katsu, this is the best Japanese curry I’ve had. The shop has many sliding doors leading to individual seats, as the space is very confined. The owner closes the shop once the rice runs out, usually around 2 p.m.

My absolute favorite curry place in Japan!! To me, it tastes like a fusion of Japanese-style and Indian style. It’s spicier than Japanese curry, but not as spicy as Indian. There aren’t any veggies in the roux, just beef if you order it. But I always get the katsu-curry (deep-fried pork cutlet) with rice.
